The Voice UK: Location Recordist and Boom Op

I understand the requirements of achieving clean and clear audio for a location shoot. Working in scripted and unscripted TV as well as the commercials sector, I have worked in different genres such as: light entertainment, theatre, documentary and drama. I work collaboratively with camera operators, directors and PDs; fitting radio mics discreetly and ensuring they are concealed out of shot- and maximising a favourable environment for recording. I work in various positions in the sound department including: Boom Op/Sound Assistant, Production Sound Mixer and Location Recordist.

The work that I have undertaken has been delivered to ITV, BBC, Channel 4 and the Discovery Channel; as well as winning a Depict! award and being watched on prime time television.

I can provide sound kit alongside my services which may include: mixer/recorder, boom mic and pole, radio/personal mics, timecode units, camera hops, IFBs/comteks etc. I use equipment as Sound Devices, Sennheisser, Wisycom, Zaxcom, Rycote and Ambient. I am a member of the Institute of Professional Sound (IPS) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES).
